Introducing Lisa Hein, Motivational Speaker and Author of Manifesting God’s Love In Your Family – Growing Together in Faith
WE Magazine introduced Lisa Hein several years ago when her first book, THE BOOK “I’m Doing The Best I Can!” (They won’t always be cute and adorable) was released. Through the years WE Magazine has published many of her articles and we appreciate the openness she has shared about what her ‘parenting’ journey has taught her.
‘Manifesting God’s Love In Your Family – Growing Together in Faith,’ is a book that inspires its readers to want to live their best life. It encourages us to get back to the basics of treating one another with honor, respect, and a love that is so contagious it leaves others around us feeling cherished and captivated.
1. Tell us about your new adventure.
I’m honored to share that my new book titled ‘Manifesting God’s Love in Your Family,’ (Growing Together In Faith) is now available. Having been nudged by the Lord to write this book has allowed me to explore my relationship with Him and to grow as a mother.
I will never forget how this journey began. Looking back, it was actually pretty hilarious. I was having lunch with my editor and she politely asked me if I was finished talking. I was so embarrassed because I didn’t think I was talking too much. She laughed at me and clarified what she meant. She wanted to know if I had more to say in another book. We laughed and I told her absolutely, but this one was going to be Christian.
I felt that because in my last book titled, THE BOOK “I’m Doing The Best I Can!” (They won’t always be cute and adorable) I was furious with God. I’m not sure why, but I felt abandoned by Him. It was the worst time of my life being separated from Him.
That day I went home, prayed about it, and then put a pen and piece of paper on the table. I sat quietly waiting for direction. Within a matter of minutes, all thirteen chapters were titled. I knew it was time to get busy again. His presence was all over the writings and I knew I was about to embark on the journey of a lifetime!
2. When you began journaling your thoughts six years ago, did you ever believe it would take it to the level it did?
Heaven’s no! I never wanted to share my inner thoughts because I was ashamed of what had happened to, not only my relationship with my child and husband, but to me. We were believers in God and decided to walk away because we couldn’t find a church. It was the worst decision I’ve ever made in my life.
Prior to that, we were in church all the time and my son was in love with being in His presence. It was a good life full of positive and wonderful people, phenomenal Pastors, and classes that taught about each book in the Bible. It was amazing and I couldn’t believe how wonderful my life had turned out to be.
Then, stupid hit! It was the worst two years of my life. Everything went crazy. Things that I was use to handling seemed enormous! The way I began speaking was foul and nasty. My patience had ceased to exist and all I wanted to do was make everyone in my family miserable. It was awful. I had opened up the door for the power of darkness to come in and try to kill, steal and destroy everything God had given us. (John 10:10)
3. When THE BOOK “I’m Doing The Best I Can!” was released, what were some of the responses you received?
It was awesome! The first thing that happened was Fox TV came to my home and interviewed me. It was so amazing and it began to open doors for me because I didn’t know where to begin. It gave me a lot of confidence to proceed forward and present my story. I worked hard and never gave up. I stayed as focused as I could to get the attention of the producers. I continued to push forward through one door at a time.
I was invited to speak at numerous conferences, did many local, national, and international television and radio interviews, my articles were being published and the most exciting thing that happened is I was invited to host a radio talk show. For three years, ‘Everyday Parenting,’ brought positive and healthy stories from normal people with extraordinary stories to NY Times best-selling authors such as Todd Burpo, author of ‘Heaven Is For Real,’ and Marci Shimoff, from ‘The Secret’ to name a few.
4. Where do you see your journey taking you?
I’m praying that the Lord will take me to all parts of the world. It would be an honor to share ‘Manifesting God’s Love In Your Family,’ with families from all walks of life. This book is filled with Biblically-based tidbits on how we can keep our children on track with a faith that will keep them from wavering with being in church on Sunday or running the streets the other six days. It would be wonderful if we were able to allow them to see that being a Christian is a life-style not a chore.
It’s taken a long time for me to get where I am. I’m extremely grateful that my relationship with God has grown. I’ve found the right church, (Pathways Community Church) the Pastors are true men of God who don’t have a hidden agenda, and for all the amazing experiences I’ve been through and have learned wonderful lessons from. I’m very thankful for this journey because I don’t think I would be able to present a book like this if I were not spiritually mature in my walk.
5. You talk about the importance of being a good example. Expand on this topic.
It’s important to be a good example for not only our children, but everyone in our path. It has to be the first step we take in order to be what God expects our life journey to be. We want our children to see God in us and not a hypocrite that says one thing and then acts another way when others are around.
There is much chaos surrounding us and it’s our responsibility to prepare our children to be able to cope with any horrific situation they may be faced with one day. We want to empower them to know that God is reachable and that His Son died for them so that they could have peace and everlasting life.
