Tell us about your business.
The Women Helping Women Mastermind Membership website is designed to give women a place to find everything they need to accelerate their businesses growth in one location. Members have access to business matchmaking services, a bartering program, informative teleseminars and webinars, e-books, our Expert Faculty, business forms, articles, videos and audios. They also have a forum to interact with other members, a business spotlight page as well as a personal page. Special interest groups will also focus on money-making opportunities, balancing family and career, saving money and more. The website’s goal is to give women the help, support and mentoring they need to take their businesses to the next level and increase their incomes in this tough economic climate.

Members will also be interviewed on the WHWM radio and TV shows, be featured in the WHWM newsletter and have free access to all webinars, teleseminars and monthly live events. Women throughout South Florida and around the nation will benefit from membership.

Please tell us what being a business owner means to you and why you became an entrepreneur in the first place?
I love the independence of being an entrepreneur and having the freedom to develop my ideas and inspirations with the support and assistance of my two partners in this venture. I believe we are making a positive difference in the lives of many women through our new business and I love being part of activities and events that help women help other women!

What or who has been your greatest influence in business and why?
Heidi Richards has been quite influential in my business decisions because I so admire her vibrant energy, generosity and all she has done as a woman and entrepreneur. Mandy Bass, a brilliant teacher of mind/spirit concepts and how to use them in life, has been a great mentor to me as well. I am also greatly impressed with the achievements of my two partners Barbara Theodosiou and Christina Rowe who have brilliant ideas that they love to put into action on behalf of women everywhere. These two women keep me on my toes and inspire me to achieve more than I ever expected.

What would you say is your greatest professional accomplishment to date?
The success of my Child-Centered Divorce Network in raising the consciousness of parents moving through and beyond divorce combined with writing and promoting my very successful book, How Do I Tell the Kids about the Divorce? A Create-a-Storybook Guide to Preparing Your Children — with Love! This includes having founded National Child-Centered Divorce Month in July and winning the National Victorious Woman Award in 2008.

What’s the best advice you have received in business that you wish to pass on to our readers?
Listen to your clients/customers/members before taking any actions. Give them what they need, solve their problems, and always deliver more than you promise – and you can’t lose! It’s all about creating 3-way wins: for your clients, your partners and you!

What one thing have you learned as a small business owner that has served you well over the years?
You can’t second-guess what your clients want. They always surprise you. Ask and double-check first before making assumptions. Also, people are motivated by their needs and only trust you when they feel a connection with you. Create a personal rapport, build trust – and never let them down!

Are there any resources or tools you’d like to share with other small business owners that have helped you succeed?
I strongly believe in the power of sincere communication. My ezine, blog posts and articles are the tools I use to reach out to those who know me and those who don’t so they get my message. Be authentic, sincere and approachable. WordPress blogs are a great tool. Ezinearticles.com and other article distribution sites are very useful in my business promotion.

What is Number One Business Goal you plan to accomplish over the next year?
Growing our new membership site to exploding numbers of more than 1000 members.
