Debbie O’Connor of Motivating Mum UK Offering Support and Advice for Women in Business (Started 2010)
Motivating Mum was set up in 2010 to provide support and advice to mums who are either working from home or thinking of setting up businesses. The business started in early 2010, by providing child-friendly networking events (lunches and workshops) in Wimbledon, but it has now expanded. We currently have events running in six franchise areas, with another few in the pipeline for later this year. We also provide:
– Affordable business mentoring
– A forum populated by experienced mumpreneurs across many disciplines, where you can get your business questions answered
– newsletter, blog, articles and features
Motivating Mum provides itself on providing low key informal friendly networking. Kids are accepted and allowance is made for them. We are mums and we know what it is like to launch a business with toddlers in the house.
Goals for the company include – expanding the franchisee network nationwide, Setting up a ‘social media internship’, where mums can learn social media with Motivating Mum without paying for the training
