Meet Melinda Lee, Founder of Change=Change in Fort Lauderdale, FL
Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do professionally.
I am a creative consultant and people connector. My super passion now is the Change=Change movement which inspires Americans to stimulate the economy by simply spending their loose change.
What do you enjoy most about your profession and why did you choose it in the first place?
My passion is making a difference in the world and in peoples lives and careers, what could be better than that?
Tell us about the organizations your company supports and why?
The C=C movement supports any organization interested in raising money that is being used to immediately buy goods and services (which stimulates the economy!)…BPHI needs new beds, Deliver the Dream needs to pay for rooms and expenses for cancer family retreats, The Pantry needs more food, The Freedom Foundation pays the travel expenses for students to visit historic Valley Forge.
What is the biggest risk you ever took professionally and/or the biggest obstacle you have overcome?
To not give a former boss my creative idea to use as his own…which got me fired! He ended up stealing the idea anyway…getting over this fact and moving forward positively was a lesson.
From where do you draw inspiration? Who have been your role models, mentors, etc?
The idea of simply being my personal best and not allowing other peoples lack of understanding as a deterrent to my vision and journey.
How is the current economic situation affecting your company/organization?
Actually it is because of the economy that my idea came into being.
What one thing would you like to learn this year? Patience
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
As a highly paid national (or even international) spokesperson for a cause, service or product that I believe in!
What do you do for fun/relaxation/entertainment?
Entertain, cooking, dancing, yoga, long walks, movies, reading, modeling, etc….
Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
Imagine yourself as the biggest expression of you possible. For example, it would seem unlikely that with no training or previous experience at age 50, that I could start a modeling and acting career but in less than 3 years, I have already done four movies, several national SAG commercials, hosted a TV show and appeared in many national print marketing campaigns for major brands.
Also take care of the “vehicle” your body is what will move you through your life…are you going there in a Jaguar or a jalopy?
