Meet Allison Babb, CEO & Small Business Coach of Allison Babb International, LLC in Atlanta/Georgia/USA

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do professionally.
I’m a single mom, entrepreneur, and small business coach to solo business owners.  My niche is solopreneurs as I’ve walked that path and I’m passionate about teaching solo business owners how to attract clients, create more sales, and experience more freedom in their businesses.

What do you enjoy most about your profession and why did you choose it in the first place?
I thoroughly love the transformation I see in my clients after they’ve worked with me.  It’s such an honor to be the one to open countless doors of success possibilities when I work with my clients.

The reason I chose this profession was that I personally experienced the struggle and frustration of building a business on my own.  When I discovered the recipe for solo entrepreneurial success, I felt compelled to share it with others to encourage them that they, too, can make it.

Tell us about the organizations your company supports and why?
I support charities that support single moms because I am a single mom and I understand how tough that responsibility is.  I also led a support group for single moms for 5 years at my church.  For single moms who are financially strapped or homeless, my heart truly goes out to them and their kids.  I seek out different organizations and I contribute to supporting single moms.  Details of my last charitable endeavor can be found here:  http://www.SmallBizGivingBIG.com

What is the biggest risk you ever took professionally and/or the biggest obstacle you have overcome?
Biggest risk was leaving my senior management position to start a business as a single mom.  I was earning six figures in a secure job with huge bonuses.  Yet, I couldn’t ignore the nagging desire to step into my entrepreneurial dreams.

Biggest obstacle was finally realizing that my gifts, passions and skills were not what created the income in my business.  I had to learn how to business-building skills like marketing, sales, networking, copywriting, etc.

From where do you draw inspiration? Who have been your role models, mentors, etc?
Oh my, lots of places.  I’m constantly looking for success stories to devour and mentors/coaches to guide me.  My own coaches have been my biggest inspirations.  Additionally, having the honor of helping my clients to step into their own success and watching the outcome of that is truly the best inspiration of all.

How is the current economic situation affecting your company/organization?
It hasn’t really.  Having had really great mentors, I quickly realized that we, as business owners, simply need to be innovative and opportunity-focused to continue to thrive despite economic conditions.

What one thing would you like to learn this year?
I’ve ventured whole-heartedly into the information-marketing arena and my goal is to get truly soaked in the knowledge of continuing to build a strong business as I establish new business structures for different  levels of coaching, information marketing and internet marketing.    I’ll be joining the Information Marketing Association to squirrel away as much knowledge as I can.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
AS a speaker, I see myself doing several live workshops, and I’d also like to become even more significantly philanthropic.  I see myself establishing a foundation to help single moms and hugely investing in creating success for them.

What do you do for fun/relaxation/entertainment?
I’m a total home-body.  🙂 Nothing brings me more relaxation than simply sitting at home with my kids watching a movie or just hanging out in the sun room.  Other than that, finding a Caribbean location to go sit in the sun is also relaxing for me – listening to the calm ocean waves and soaking in the sunshine.

Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
If there are any mompreneurs out there or others striving to turn their passions into a profitable business, do not give up.  Continue the search for the resources and tools you need to create the success you desire.  Because you absolutely can.
