ESTROVEN AND THE AVON FOUNDATION TEAM UP AGAIN TO SLEEP PINK
According to the American Cancer Society, two out of three invasive breast cancers are found in women 55 or older, which means that menopause-aged women are at a substantially increased risk.1 That’s why Estroven, the safe multi-symptom menopause relief solution,* announces the return of “Sleep Pink.”
This partnership will support the Avon Foundation for Women, which raises funds to advance access to quality breast health care, to research prevention and causes of breast cancer and ultimately, to find a cure. Sleep Pink is a national movement of pink pajama parties held to celebrate survivors and remind women of the need for continued awareness.
The direct correlation between menopausal-aged women and an increased risk of breast cancer prompted Estroven’s decision to create the initiative. Last year’s inaugural Sleep Pink program asked women to host parties and submit photographs to Estroven’s website, with the company pledging a donation to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer for
each party photo submitted. The movement received additional attention when television broadcasters, both male and female, donned pink robes on camera as a call to participate. Funds raised by the Avon walks are donated to leading cancer centers, research institutions and community-based organizations to support breast cancer research and access programs across the country.
“Estroven is passionate about addressing the issues that impact the lives of peri/menopausal women,” says April Mills, Marketing Director at i-Health, maker of Estroven. “Together with the over 100 women and news anchors who hosted Sleep Pink parties last year, we raised tens of thousands of dollars for the Avon Foundation and aim to contribute even more in 2013.”
Come October, which is also National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Estroven is upping the ante and inviting even more women to Sleep Pink by making participation more accessible than before. The company will pledge $250 to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer for each party photo submitted, and $100 for every image uploaded of an individual in her pink pajamas^. The program’s website will provide party help with suggestions of décor, food and drink recipes, entertainment and party favors supplied by event planners across the country.
Look out for specially marked packages of Estroven in retail stores nationwide and Sleep Pink retail displays at local Walgreens. To find out how to host an Estroven Sleep Pink pajama party and raise funds for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, visit www.SleepPink.com.
