Rebekah Evans, CEO of Future Mrs. Box (formerly Beautiful Bride Box) is WE Magazine for Women’s Featured Woman on the Move

Here is her interview:

Tell us about how you chose your career/business and what your responsibilities include?
I started with the intention of filling a gap in the bridal subscription box industry. We are the first bridal subscription box to offer 100% personalized items — with the Bride-to-be’s last name on our products delivered each month. Not only are we the first bridal subscription box of our kind, I am the first Latina subscription box owner in the wedding box industry. I run the company, as well as lead a team that implements my business strategies.

Tell us about the company you work for or own? is the ONLY bridal subscription box that offers personalized items for brides-to-be! Brides-to-be can treat themselves to a monthly box that has 100% personalized products that they are looking for. All other bridal subscription boxes out there send generic items that all say “Bride” on them. I wanted to create an alternative that provided Brides the personal touch they look for!

What are some of the most fulfilling projects you have been involved with so far?
I am a part of a women empowerment community that focuses on the needs and support of women business owners (Savvy Business Owners). I have also led a group that instills faith and empowers women to fulfill their calling and passing in life (Propel Women). And, I serve regularly at my church under the women’s ministry.

Are there any people in your field you would like to meet and/or work with and have not yet had the opportunity?
Yes, I feel like I am always evolving and would love to work with industry leaders, as well as leaders in other industries. I would love to work with Bride de Force, for instance!

What are some of your favorite ways to network?
Social media is certainly at the top of that list. But, I am also a part of various women networking groups, which allows me to connect with likeminded business owners.

Do you have a mentor – if so how did you choose one another? If not, is this something you think would benefit your career and is there anyone you would like to have as a mentor?
I managed to get started in the business world on my own, though I don’t recommend that to anyone starting out. I wish I had a mentor that aided me along the way, providing advise and caveats that would have helped tremendously. I would love to find a mentor in the bridal subscription box field who is doing what I am doing, but even better! Goals have to come from somewhere 🙂

What have you learned from your mentor? What do you hope to learn?
I hope to learn how to create a sustainable business. I have been able to create a successful business, but now I want to make sure it is sustainable. I’d also love to be a mentor to young woman who is just starting out as an entrepreneur and help her in ways I wish I had someone to help me.

What’s been the most surprising thing that has happened to you so far in your career?
Hearing your name and “successful business owner” in one sentence. I always feel like I am reaching for something, improving and innovating — but, it’s nice to have your past efforts recognized, too!

What do you do for fun/relaxation?
I go the parks with my husband and son, we love being outside and seeing nature in its element! Or, I go out to eat with my family or friends — I am a self-professed foodie! But, at night I love putting on a face mask, grabbing a snack and curling up with a good book to read or a good Youtube video to watch 🙂

Any parting advice for someone who would like to follow in your footsteps?
Stay committed. There will be times you’re the only one who believes you can do it, and that’s ok. Be the only one, but stay committed and consistent. There are dreamers and there are doers, and then there are entrepreneurs who implement both!
