Meet Wendy Blum of Destiny Bodywear
Wendy worked in corporate America for over 20 years and established a successful career but still felt something in her life was still missing. Her true desire was to live her life passionately…doing something that she loved while making a difference in the world. She took most of her savings and decided it was time to live her dream and start a clothing line…something different….something powerful and meaningful. The result: Destiny Bodywear!
Destiny Bodywear is committed to make a difference in the world. Their team is passionate about supporting organizations that inspire women to create their own true identity. Women for Women, International is an organization that empowers women to be the best they can be regardless of challenging situations. Destiny Bodywear donates all of their proceeds from their Destiny Charity shirt to Women for Women, Int.
Here’s her story:
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I work hard but I really love what I do. Hearing stories from the women that are inspired wearing our clothing is extremely rewarding. I feel lucky to be doing something that makes people smile.
What was your vision for starting Destiny Bodywear?
It started when I went deep inside my own heart….searching for my own identity. I asked myself the question “What is your Destiny? And then all the answers just came. I answered that question so many different ways… because we create it with everything we think. From there my clothing line was born. I am truly blessed and honored that I can share inspiration with others and they can continue to share and inspire even more people.
What are some of the ways Destiny Bodywear helps women ~ what are some of the organizations you support?
Destiny Bodywear is committed to make a difference in the world. We are passionate about supporting organizations that inspire women to create their own true identity. Women for Women, International is an organization that empowers women to be the best they can be regardless of challenging situations. We donate all of our proceeds from our Destiny Charity shirt to Women for Women, Int. We also have a link on our website where you can personally adopt a sister in another country and encourage those of us that can get involved to participate.
What life event or incident made you choose to support them?
I adopted a sister in Rwanda and her life story and letters of gratitude touched my heart. Sometimes even a small thing like a letter and a few kind words can change the direction of someone’s life. Marie once said in one of her letters to me that she actually jumped for joy when she received a letter from me. I was inspired by Marie and all the other women that remain strong in less fortunate circumstances
From where do you draw inspiration?
I am inspired by many great spiritual leaders: Marianne Williamson, Elizabeth Leser, Eckart Tolle.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Growing into an international company that inspires and brings people together in peace and harmony.
What’s the one thing you’d like to accomplish before you leave this world?
I hope to have played a role in bringing a higher consciousness to this planet.
What do you do for fun, relaxation?
I love to do so many things but my favorite activities include yoga, hiking, and traveling
Do you have a secret indulgence? If so, what is it?Good food and good wine.
