1. Tell us a little about yourself. I am a single Mom with a beautiful daughter Megan 17 that is dual enrollment (all honors) at BrevardCommunity College. My name is Cathy Bucklin 40. I have been doing cosmetology work for twenty years and have had my own salon for seven years. I just received “Business of the Year” for BrevardCounty and “Woman of the Year for the American Business Woman’s Association.
2. What do you enjoy most about your profession? I love working with people and giving back to my community
3. Tell us about other organizations you support? The American Business Woman’s Association. I am President and Woman of the Year. I work with the American cancer Society “Locks of Love” and “Look Good Feel Better Program” I am also on the auxiliary for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Junior Vice and Secretary. I am also on the auxiliary for the American Legion. I have also worked with Hospice. I am a certified Nurse Aide and make house calls to seniors and shut ins. I am also a Palm Bay Chamber member and support the e-commerce network for woman.
4. What life event or incident made you choose to support them? I lost my fiance 40 years old to cancer-7 years ago and it truly changed my life. I started giving back more to the American cancer Society and Hospice. They are truly remarkable organizations.
5. Where do you see yourself/your organization in 5 years? I plan on continuing to grow and expand my salon. I also plan on giving back to my community and share my experience with future powerful woman. Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers? Just to stay focused-persevere and never give up on a dream.
