International Travel

Travel is different. That might be an understatement. Do you know what to do?

If your plans include travel out of the US, you need to pay attention to the latest updates. Several countries in the European nation have recently added the United States to their list of travelers they do not want to come in. Rules change daily it seems. Check with the US State Department before you plan your trip, before you buy tickets, and before you leave for the airport.

You can even register with the State Department so you receive alerts and info while you are traveling. Check here https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories.html/

Some other things to think about include:

You will need to have a COVID-19 test to come back into the US. This means you need to plan for the extra time and extra expense. Do you know where and when to get that test? Does your airline provide it or do you need to find a pharmacy that does?

If you are able to travel outside the US, make sure you know the guidelines for the country where you will be traveling to, as many are different. Those may even change from when you enter a country to when you are ready to leave. Are you traveling to more than one country? Check the guidelines for travel between them as well.

Keep in mind, you may need to quarantine when you get to country. What does that mean? Be prepared. Have some snacks, a way to wash a few clothes, allow extra time to get places…and do not forget to pack your patience.
