Everyone knows that eating healthy can help you lose weight and help you become healthier over all. However, eating healthy can be quite a task so it helps to know that eating certain foods can also make you feel better, happier and more energetic, in a matter of minutes. Listed below are five foods that you can eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even a snack that will make you feel great in no time.
Chocolate. It is no surprise that chocolate is a favorite for many people; it is a snack that makes you feel good and healthy when taken in limited amounts. Seratonin and antioxidants are key ingredients. Seratonin is a chemical that is produced in your brain, however, eating chocolate can increase the amount of seratonin you are receiving and create an instant sense of pleasure. Meanwhile, antioxidants are working for your skin by preventing diseases and working against aging.
Egg whites. One of the main proteins contained in egg whites is called tryptophan. Tryptophan is a protein that breaks down into seratonin and melatonin. As mentioned above, seratonin is a feel good chemical. Melatonin is just as beneficial. It is a chemical that aids in getting a good night sleep and sleep is a key factor to good health.
Fish. Obviously not everyone likes fish, but this is perfect for vegans that allow themselves to eat fish and for anyone who just enjoys fish in general. Tuna and salmon, specifically, are great mood changers. Oily fish, like tuna and salmon, contain important fats called omega-3 and they are very healthy for you. Omega-3 has been proven to brighten moods in many depression studies. So, eating salmon or tuna 2-3 times a week will improve your mood drastically.
Fruits. Even as a child you were told to eat your fruits and veggies, most likely not knowing how good they can be for you. Fruits such as apples, berries, and pears are great foods to eat in the winter to make you feel good. Natural fruits contain sugar, carbohydrates, and fibers that directly affect blood sugar, this in turn relays to your mood. Eating fresh fruits will give you the perfect little boost of energy you need during the day.
Nuts and seeds. Peanuts are one of the top things recommended in weight loss. Less commonly known is the sunflower seed. With so many types of nuts and seeds to choose from it helps to know that a food smaller than a penny can work wonders for your health and your mood. All you need is about a handful of sunflower seeds to increase mood-regulating nutrients in your body. Magnesium, for example, is a key nutrient in your mood and it is contained, high in content, in sunflower seeds.
These are just a few foods to get you started and they are not the only feel good, beneficial foods out there. By researching the food you eat and the amount you should eat, you will be able to increase your health and feel better at the same time.
