Woman on a Mission Interview with Susan Allan, CEO of The Marriage Forum, Inc.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do professionally.
In 1998 I had a life-threatening divorce and vowed that no one else would even need to experience what I had, without the tools and skills that I learned and which saved my life. I have been seen on Montel Williams, on Fox News and on countless other television and radio programs since 1999 discussing the skills included in my The Heartspace System©. As a Marriage, Divorce, Peace and Relationship Coach, and as a Certified Mediator Los Angeles County Bar Association I created The Marriage Forum, Inc. and the website www.thedivorceforum.com , that is like an 800 page free book.

Nonviolent Communication SM, and Herrmann Brain Dominance ™ are included in the life Coaching that I offer my clients and I write monthly columns for Ask The Love and Relationship Coach in Santa Barbara Family Life Magazine and Ask The Divorce Coach© at http://www.parenttoparent.com   and have done so for the last 5 years. I have been producing and appearing on segments of local television for the Compassionate Connection Show offering pro bono trainings twice each month with a local by donation workshop the day after each program to allow local clients to receive in –person trainings based on the weekly topics.

My EBooks, 101 DIVORCE SECRETS; A SURVIVAL GUIDE and DIVORCE: THE MARRY-GO-ROUND or How to Save Your Money, Your Sanity and Your Life are offered as  give-aways and also sold online.

The October issue of Elle Magazine will carry a story covering much of my divorce-related work. An upcoming story in the LA Times Magazine Section is expected to carry an extensive report on my marital reconciliation work that has proven to be 100% effectiveness.

What do you enjoy most about your profession and why did you choose it in the first place?
I love supporting clients in reaching their goals and creating the lives of their dreams. I particularly enjoy having the tools and skills to offer them that work each and every time they are applied with skill.

Tell us about the organizations your company supports and why?
My company offers so many pro bono options including jail workshops and those mentioned in Question 1 that we are becoming a non-profit.

What is the biggest risk you ever took professionally and/or the biggest obstacle you have overcome?
I left a career of 25 years in the fashion and antiques business in order to make this difference in the world. At times, since 1999 I have risked ALL to continue with this Mission.

From where do you draw inspiration? Who have been your role models, mentors, etc?
I was raised to revere the lives of The Dalai Lama, Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Albert Schweitzer. My maternal grandmother and my father also devoted their lives to service and have been great inspirations to me.

How is the current economic situation affecting your company/organization?
This is the first year I haven’t raised my hourly rates.

What one thing would you like to learn this year?
Live streaming video production using Digital Stream technology is the next step for me.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years I intend to be a household name in the divorce and marriage industries and to a lesser degree in the general population. I am well on the way to the first!

What do you do for fun/relaxation/entertainment?
