A place I have always wanted to visit and after reading the Summer Issue of WE Magazine for Women have made up my mind to stop dreaming about it and just do it!
The Summer Issue of WE Magazine for Women has been exceptionally fun to put together. Meeting new authors, finding and connecting with new women who are truly on a mission to change the world, reading the advice of so many experts and sampling some new recipes has been both inspiring and rewarding.
We are excited to introduce you to several new contributors including two new members of our editorial team. They are: Jessica Sellers our new Cover Editor, Dr. Sally Witt our new eViews Editor, as well as first-time contributors Natalia Ippolito, Renee Cloud, Christine Cowheard, Leon Hesser, Julie Lohmeier, Bobbi Palmer, Felicia Slattery and Laura Wheeler. These women represent several countries around the globe and several topics each of interest to women.
We are delighted to introduce you to Maria do Rosario, Brazil’s Barefoot Beauty. I met Maria a few years ago when she was visiting her daughter Rosana Santos in South Florida. She is an exceptional Role Model ~ a women of strength, determination and as they say in Portuguese “um perfeito dez” (a perfect ten). Speaking of Rosana, I couldn’t have her mother on the cover without also including Rosana in our Women on a Mission. Since the moment we first met and became friends I knew there was something special about her. She is one of the most giving and generous women I have ever met. When you read about the people of Brazil in the articles “Brazil ~ More than a Country” and “Sojourning in Brazil” they are talking about Rosana.
Be sure and try the recipe for Bacalhau– a traditional fish dish native to Brazil. I was introduced to Bacalhau in Portugal when my husband and I traveled to there. It is one of our favorite meals! And be sure and try the Cachacas recipes next time you entertain. Yummy!
You have probably been reading a lot about the Acai berry lately and its health benefits. In fact the Acai (ah-sigh-ee) berry, which has taken Direct Selling by storm with companies like Mona Vie, has been used for many generations by the natives of Brazil. Acai boasts 10 times the antioxidant benefits of grapes and twice that of blueberries. Even though the Acai berry has been around for thousands of years it was not until the 1990’s that it was first introduced to the western world. First used by the tribes of the Amazon jungle as a cure for various ailments, the Acai berry was found to possess tremendous health properties. You can read more about the acai berry at http://www.acai.vg/.
As the publisher of a digital magazine I know how important sustainability is to continuing to enjoy the planet and all its rewards. We are on a mission to share green resources and expertise in every issue. Brazil has always been proactive in their efforts to keep the planet safe for generations to come. You can read International Livings Report on Brazil that explores its culture, its economy, and its history. It has everything you need to know about Brazil ~ and how green living is a part of their culture.
