Yes, it’s a blow when the powers in charge make the decision to side with the bad guys…Yes, it is a fact, Monsanto now has the legal right to plant and grow genetically modified alfalfa…a crop that will, without doubt contaminate many if not all the surrounding crops, traditional and organic … this action will impact the whole of the dairy industry…alfalfa is a mainstay in the cattle, and mostly in the the dairy cow- feed choices.
Organic and Sustainable crops have made great strides over the last few years, what will happen to all the progress, what does one do when suddenly the grim reaper is standing at the door.
Sadly, I have no quick or easy solutions…only suggestions…the same ones we have used to come thus far.
We must never lose hope and our faith that good over-comes bad,
that hard work and education will always lead us to a new path.
If on the first trial we don’t succeed, we must dust our selves off and try again.
To take the defeats and weave them into wins.
For those who don’t know or who wish to know who and what Monsanto is and does…and please understand …we all need to know.
Organic Consumers is a wonderful, factual based site for information on all things organic and threats to same.
We must also understand that genetically modified is not only a threat to organics, but to all crops….chemical use in crops is bad for many reasons…genetically modified is Russian Roulette with a guaranteed outcome…destruction of a healthy food supply.
