Being a woman is one thing, but stereotyped image of certain ethnics have been a tough glass to break.

Being a Chinese descendant raised in Japan, I faced and am still facing challenges similar to "glass ceiling" since childhood. I came the the US to attend Berkeley (Business School), what can one ask for more?

Top education... but when I graduated, "quota" system took my first job that was offered later was given to other minority men, then the women...Was I angry? A bit then, but it made me struggle... gradually natural acceptance has made me stronger and independent. In fact, determined to beat the system with positive and proactive attitude - being who you are and not what you are... "It is their problem and loss to view me as what and not who I am. It took time to break the glass one by one. I still struggle because I am a woman plus being stereotyped as an "Asian". Today, my toughest struggle is with my extremely traditional father... because I have become a non-traditional Asian woman - I am not included in family business.

Ladies, despite all our differences (whatever it may be) our synergy, positive, open and being fair should be our utmost "common" ground. We faced glass ceiling - even against high level corporate women. We should similar to "old school boys golf players" where at "golf course" - where many top decisions are usually made. "Golf course" is our unity. We should be see and work beyond the gender, but as a professional, who we are and what we offer. Personal life - keep separate - the golden rule. Thanks for reading.

Won't you agree? Success comes with price. Keep strong and keep on moving/truck'in.

As with anything Heidi Richards does, the Womens Business Owners Survey is "WOW-packed" with information and beautifully, as well as professionally, presented.

This is another example of how Heidi has created an elite "womens club" of sorts, which allows women who are new to business, and those who are seasoned professionals, to come together in camaraderie with similar goals, aspirations, hopes and dreams.

I was excited to see the results. So new to business and without previous business training, I'm always a bit worried that my goals or my style of doing business is 'out of sync' with other women in business. I'm not entirely worried about being out of sync, that is a risk I'm willing to take in order to live my dream as I see it. But I'm very glad still, to see that I share many things in common with a great deal of women building their own business today.

Heidi-
This survey was first rate 100%. Your statistics are exciting to me as a small business owner who markets my communication consulting services to other small business owners. This information is valuable to have and I will regularly refer to it as I move forward. Thank you so much for empowering women in business and doing all that you do! You are amazing!

Warmly,
