These are some great suggestions, thanks for helping de-stress the holidays! Disposable plates are a great suggestion, but one thing to definitely avoid is plastic. Plastic plates are of course made from petroleum, and in recent tests, some even contain BPA, a toxic material http://www.chinapost.com.tw/taiwan/national/national-news/2009/10/15/228673/Toxic-BPA.htm

I'd like to humbly suggest a way to easily green your feast with style: One of the best options you can use for disposable plates is Verterra. They're made from one thing: Palm leaves, steamed and cooled into beautiful, tough, highly compostable plates. You can literally toss them in the garbage, and they'll go away.

We've now got them available both online and in about 400 stores, including many Whole Foods. You can learn more at http://www.verterra.com

I'm happy to answer any questions, and will track comments to come on back and answer them.
