"Meet Woman in Business Cindy Georghiou"Meet entrepreneur and mom, Cindy Georghiou, owner and operator of JAQUA Beauty, based in Los Angeles, California and the November Woman in Business.

Years in business?

JAQUA has been around since 1999. Then in 2012, I had the opportunity to acquire all the intellectual property for the brand and I said “Yes Please” without hesitation.

Tell us about your business what product or service you provide and who your target audience is?

We offer bath and beauty treats with high-end ingredients and our own special proprietary gourmand fragrances including our #1 seller ButtercreamFrosting.

Our target audience is women between ages of 18 and 55; they are a higher-end consumer that lives a healthy lifestyle and wants “good for you” ingredients, with minimal fillers. We use no added parabens, never test on animals, and offer high-end products at a reasonable price.

Please tell us what being a business owner means to you and why you became an entrepreneur in the first place?

Being a business owner to me means that I can be 100 percent passionate about what I do and utilize all of my skills, and essentially be the best “me” that I can be.

Who or what has been your greatest influence in business and why?

My best friend is a very successful entrepreneur; she inspired me and gave me the strength and desire to go out and do it on my own.

What would you say is your greatest professional accomplishment to date.

Finding the opportunity to acquire all the intellectual property for JAQUA and actually going through with it.

What is the best advice you have received in business that you would like to pass on to our readers.

Keep going because it’s going to be hard; it’s not going to be easy.  There’s going to be times when you feel like a complete failure but you have to pick yourself up and keep it going because is worth it.

What have been the most effective marketing initiatives or programs you have used to promote your business?

Thus far, there have been two key components to our success:1) launching our successful e-commerce website; 2) and showing our complete line at the Atlanta gift show.

What one thing have you learned as a small business owner that has served you well over the years?

That’s a fun good question–probably that I can do a lot more than I thought I could, and that I have more talents then I actually realized.

As a small business owner, you have to wear so many different hats and you just have to believe that you can do anything.

Do you have any new projects coming up?

Yes, I just launched my Shower Syrup which is a body wash that you can also use to shave.  Its hydrating, moisturizing, and rich and creamy.  I absolutely love it. We have already sold out of our initial run! So it has been very well received.

What do you do for fun/relaxation.

Well, when I actually get my own time that’s not on a soccer field, I actually play a lot of golf.  My son is not only a great soccer player but he is also a great golfer and we have been spending a lot of time together on the golf course.

I also like to walk, run, workout, any kind of outdoor activities work for me. Exercising helps me reduce my stress and clear my head. I come up with some of my best ideas while I’m out walking or running or just doing yoga or P90x in my office.

What is Number One Business Goal you plan to accomplish over the next year?

Expanding my business by 30%.

I want to write a book on don’t sweat the small stuffit’s really not worth it and it doesn’t get you anywhere.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?

Please, always believe in yourself and your abilities and don’t ever let anyone else tell you otherwise. Life is short. Go for it!
