Meet Bride-at-Heart and Creator of I Do Tattoo™

Submitted by Heidi Richards on November 3, 2009 – 4:39 pmNo Comment

Debbie Franchi is the Founder and Creator of I Do Tattoo™ in Little Falls, NJ

When it was time for Debbie Franchi to marry, she thought the options for her Something Blue accessory were rather disappointing. After years as a media maven and a mother, this thought led to the entrepreneurial venture of I Do Tattoo™. Recalling her prior disappointment with her Something Blue experience and armed with years of creative expertise on her side, Debbie got to work to create the perfect solution for the bride who wants more than a wilted idea to carry her down the aisle on the big day. Debbie decided to enter the wedding industry—on her own terms. Debbie created a chic alternative way of incorporating Something Blue into a wedding by designing and producing eight temporary blue tattoos with wedding theme designs.

The idea for I Do Tattoo™ was a two-fold process. Debbie points out that one in three Generation X women – the majority of whom make up today’s brides, have permanent tattoos. They’re fun, they’re hip, and they’re trendy. Debbie points out the keepsake case, also blue, houses a photo frame for a wedding photo and a screen print of the actual tattoo design the bride wore on her wedding day. This way, the bride can pull the box out at a later date and remember her Something Blue. After all, Debbie believes your Something Blue should also be Something Remembered.

Debbie created the company I Do Tattoo™ by drawing on her successful multi-coastal career as a go-to media maven at advertising companies such as DMB&B and J. Walter Thompson where she worked for large clients such as Kodak, Apple and Elizabeth Arden. While balancing time between her family and career, the entrepreneurial wheels never quit spinning. The mother of two knew the bridal bug had bitten once again, and decided to leave her lucrative job in advertising to pursue this project on her own.

I Do Tattoo™ creates profits through retail sales in boutiques and online sales through the I Do Tattoo™ website. Working on her own terms also allows Debbie to involve her company for the benefit of the local community. Most recently, Debbie donated her services and merchandise at a New Jersey shopping expo, to help raise funds for Jersey Battered Women’s Service.

Debbie has gone from media maven to mother to entrepreneur; proving that women can do whatever they put their minds to. Not only is her product revolutionary in the bridal world, it is an innovative way for the mother of two to pursue her passion for creativity.
