100 MORE Women Bloggers to Watch for 2009

Submitted by HeidiRichards on August 1, 2009 – 1:31 am134 Comments

Every few months I share a list of women bloggers whom I have come in contact with either by a link to their blog, by twitter, google alerts and referrals from other women bloggers.  This list of 100 women bloggers was particularly challenging to create.  First because there are so many wonderful blogs, how does one pick just 100? And second because I decided to do something different. So instead of just a random listing of women bloggers to watch with a link to their blog, I decided it would better serve our readers to alphabetize the list  and include a sentence about the blog.

Please do leave your comments below and let us know your thoughts. And more importantly visit these exceptional women bloggers and LET THEM KNOW where you heard about them!

By the way,  if you would like to submit your blog for consideration for a future post on Women Bloggers to Watch, please leave your blog title, the url and a one sentence description in the comments section. I personally review EVERY Blog that is on this list before listing it, and would love to do the same for your woman edited, published, or owned blog.

And if you happen to be one of our bloggers to watch, CONGRATULATIONS! (You can download our new logo by right clicking and saving to your computer).

  • Excellent list of blogs:)enjoyed reading through them, thanks for posting.

  • DrJanice says:

I have three blogs. Why not? Blogs are like shoes – self expression, style, fun – oh yes, and sometimes they are a teensy bit painful. drjanice.wordpress.com is Ask Dr. Janice, my ‘old original’ blog. Started about business – building a coherent human infrastructure in your organization – and mutated a bit to include political commentary and stories. CEO2CEO.wordpress.com is my DrJ blog – me as tech CEO talking about CEO stuff. And Tools4Careers.wordpress.com – careers, because I’ve had a lot of them and giving back is good.

  • I’d like to be considered in the future =) At Jump off the Bridge I blog about activism, politics, social issues, random musings, my life, books, music, etc. all through a feminist lens.

This is a great list, by the way. Woman Tribune and Acts of Faith are two blogs I read regularly.

A special Congrats to Allison Reynolds on her honest, spicy and always entertaining and informative Blog being included at #4. Hers is a can’t miss for me.

  • Laurie says:

What an amazing list — “virtually” something for everyone. I would like to recommend a new blog by art gallery owner Mary Weimer (www.assiniboia.com). Mary’s breezy blog “Living Up Downtown” talks about her retro-modern living arrangement — she, husband and their two small children live in an apt. above her art gallery in downtown Regina. The couple reno-ed the 100-year-old house, creating a live-work situation neither planned on when the project began. Mary blogs about her rather unorthodox residential choice, about downtown living, and, naturally, about art and the artists who show their work at her upscale gallery.

Love reading women bloggers! Have just started blogging myself taking a light-hearted look at the menopause. It’s a bit of a taboo subject judging by the content I’ve been able to find in searches. I hope my blog will help fill some of the gaps. And I’m not selling HRT or alternatives!

  • Izzy says:

Ooops – I forgot to mention my blog address in case any of you are interested in popping by. I’m at http://menopauseandmore.blogspot.com

I found your list through a referral and would love for you to consider my blog for your list of 100 Women Bloggers to watch.

My blog is Mommy Lite (www.MommyLiteOnline.com).

Mommy Lite is a dose of humor to “lighten” your spirit. As moms, dads, aunts, uncles, teachers, nannies, whatever…we all know that taking care of kids takes a sense of humor. If you can’t “lighten up”, you’ll never survive. Hence, “Mommy Lite” was born.

As for me, I am a freelance writer whose work has appeared on More.com, Shine, TheWellMom.com and ParentsAsk.com.

I hope you’ll enjoy and at the very least, I’d love any thoughts or feedback.

This list actually has some of my favorites and indeed one or two or the persons who have commented asking for consideration are right up there too.

I have discovered many amazing women bloggers out there. Their creativity, sensitivity and helpfulness is commendable.

Let’s rededicate ourselves to making the best of the opportunity to get out there and make a difference.

  • Hi,
I love your site. Please consider BRENDA’S BLOG on BreastCancerSisterhood.com for a future Women Bloggers to Watch. As a breast cancer survivor, filmmaker and journalist, I write/video everything from unwanted facial hair, frequent mammary miles, and “not tonight, honey, my feet are cold.” The facial hair blog debuts next week and was filmed at the oldest barbershop in Texas. What a cool place.

In addition to BRENDA’S BLOG, I have created over 100 original videos about breast cancer survivorship for women, husbands/caregivers and children.

Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you and finding great new women bloggers.

Small Business owners are largely forgotten. Thats why I only focus on them. I have experience several members of my family file bankruptcy due to small business failures. I also I suffered through 2 destroyed businesses due to failure however, in my failings I have learned some of the secrets to success. (Who can say they know it all?)
What I like about small business owners is that they are not afraid to take huge risks and lay it all on the line. But, I agree they do need a lot of help with their marketing. I think having them go the social media and email route is not only the least expensive but its also the most effective. Thanks for the stats!
